Bejeweled Bookmarks and other Artazia Delights

Not to be confused with its forerunner, 'Art Nouveau', 'Art Deco' is a term which refers to certain art forms of the 1920s and 30s. Its style was colourful, geometric.

Though thoroughly modern and sophisticated, it often drew on earlier avant-garde ideas - indeed it was even influenced by ancient art.

It covered designs in art, architecture, transport, fashion, etc, etc.
The term comes from the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes.

The 'Turquoise Peace Dove', on an 18" French rope, is colourful, yet very tasteful. It fastens with a spring-ring-clasp.

Another gorgeous, richly-coloured 'bird' from the Artaxia Collection, is the 'Rooster Pin'.

He is really special ~ 2.50 inches high and 2 inches wide and weighs 1.3 ounces.

The pin is crafted in stainless steel, and decorated with crystal and Swarovski crystals, having been hand-painted, in rich jewel colours, using both acrylic and metalic paints.

What better way for a craftsperrson to display her ability, than in items denoting crafts?!

The 'Cat and Crazy Quilt Pin' includes a 'sewing needle' and the 'Knitting Sweater Pin' includes a pair of 'knitting needles'.

Weighing 1.3 ounces, it measures 2.90 inches by 1.10 inches.

Available from 'The Artazia Collection' are two 'Tree of Life' necklaces / pendants and one 'Tree of Life' pin.

All are made of stainless-steel and are hand painted. Both acrylic and metalic paints have been used and the items are decorated with Swarovski crystals, crystam and, in the case of the pendants, decorative glass.

Both necklaces are fastened using spring-ring clasps, but the 'chains' are different.
