Finding Relief From Aches and Pains

"Let it change yours!"

Back Pain and Other Problems

If, like me, you suffer with your back ~ or indeed if you suffer with aches and pains anywhere in your body ~ you will know just how tiring and debilitating this can be.

When I was nine, during ‘long jump’ at school, I landing on 'my sitting bone' (no safety cushions in those days). Oh the agony! An X-ray revealed that I had cracked my coccyx. I had also jolted my whole body out of true ~ but that didn't show up at the time.

I made matters worse, at the age of 12, by landing, once again, on my coccyx, when I tried skating! (Obviously, I wasn't a very well co-ordinated child!)

I visited the doctor and the hospital, but they could not help me, so I had to grin and bear it ~ not easy to do with a broken coccyx!

Benefits of Visiting a Reliable Osteopath

Time went by, my back pain continued, I started to limp, and Mum suggested an osteopath.

Mum knew about osteopaths. After suffering a twisted pelvis giving birth to my brother, the medical profession had put her in plaster of Paris, then surgical corsets ~ and finally discharged her from the orthopaedic hospital ~ 'a cripple'. She lived in agony, until she discovered an osteopath, who could free her of pain and give her back her life.

Wonderful Osteopathy

So I, too, began receiving treatment from an osteopath. The treatment did work wonders, but, in my case, my body had 'grown up' with the bones in the wrong position, so it took time.

I found that my neck was one of my most painful areas.

My osteopath was very good; she would manipulate the bones into place, but, unfortunately, it wouldn’t be too long before they clicked out again. Then my agony would return. It was not her fault; the osteopath felt that the problem was with my muscles. She was getting the bones back into order, but the muscles simply were not holding them.

Bowen Therapy

Coincidentally, a friend had recently trained in Bowen Therapy. This technique worked on the muscles. My osteopath agreed that this might be exactly what I needed.

And it was!

I am in much, much less pain now. I may go if the pain becomes acute or ~ if I am sensible ~ I will simply go for regular treatments to prevent problems building up.

Some people may respond better to osteopathy, and some may respond better to Bowen. Currently, I, personally, am sticking with Bowen, because it has changed my life, but I have taken my children for cranial osteopathy / cranial sacral therapy and it has worked absolute wonders, so, find the one which suits you, choose a reliable practitioner ~ preferably one who has been recommended ~ and change your life!

Osteopath, a Cranial Osteopath, Bowen therapist - All Recommended

Whether you choose an osteopath, a cranial osteopath, or a Bowen therapist, you could be en route to a pain-free ~ or pain-improved ~ new life. Good luck!

If you want to read up on the subjects first, and you would like some books, then there are plenty available on Amazon. You could read their reviews for more information. You may be able to borrow some of them from libraries.

Be sure to choose a reliable and trustworthy practitioner!
