One Is Invited - A 'Found' Poem
'Across the Lawns'
'Found' Poetry
In her HubPages article, 'Think you don't know how to write poetry? Try Found Poems', Natalie Sack recommends leafing through a magazine, choosing an article, at random, and then discovering the words, within it, that seem most appealing. Then allowing those words to form a 'found' poem.
I thought that I would take her advice and I chose an online page, from an archaeology magazine that I enjoy reading. The item concerned a restoration project at Kew Gardens.
First I chose everything that appealed.
Then I narrowed down the words and phrases to those which particularly appealed.
Though I discarded some words; I added none.
I did alter the final order, so that it was pleasing to me.
The result is: 'One is Invited ...'.
